Single-channel 14-bit 125MSPS Digital-to-Analog Converter GX9764 Replacing AD9764 for Communication Systems

Time:2025-11-10 Views:154
In modern communication, the demand for data transmission rates has grown exponentially. Massive amounts of data must be processed and transmitted within extremely short timeframes to meet user requirements for applications such as high-definition video, real-time communication, and high-speed web browsing. The conversion between digital and analog signals enables efficient and accurate communication. The GXSC 14-bit resolution, broadband high-performance, low-power CMOS digital-to-analog converter (DAC) GX9764 can replace the AD9764 in communication systems, delivering outstanding AC and DC performance while supporting an update rate of up to 125 MSPS.

The GX9764 is manufactured using advanced CMOS technology and features a segmented current source structure, which reduces stray elements and enhances dynamic performance. The chip integrates an edge-triggered input latch and a 1.25V temperature-compensated bandgap reference, providing a complete monolithic DAC solution. Differential current output supports both single-ended and differential applications. In differential output mode, the matching between the two current outputs affects dynamic performance. The current output can be directly connected to an output resistor to provide two complementary single-ended voltage outputs or directly output to a transformer.
The GX9764 on-chip reference and control amplifier delivers maximum precision and flexibility. It can be driven by an internal reference voltage or various external reference voltages. The internal control amplifier provides a wide adjustment range (>10:1), enabling the chip‘s full-scale current to be adjusted within the range of 2mA to 20mA while maintaining excellent dynamic performance. Consequently, the GX9764 can operate at lower power levels and also be adjusted within a 20dB range to provide additional gain variation.
