GXSC AFE Replacement for ADS1283/ADS1284 in Industrial Process Control and Monitoring

Time:2026-03-06 Views:29
Industrial process control and monitoring serve as the primary foundation for achieving intelligent and lean production in modern manufacturing, spanning the entire production workflow. Particularly in scenarios such as chemical processing, power generation, automated production lines, and new energy applications, precise acquisition of process signals—including pressure, temperature, flow, strain, and voltage—is essential. Simultaneously, these systems must adapt to the demanding requirements of industrial environments, including complex electromagnetic interference, extreme temperature fluctuations, and low-power operation.

Traditional ADC devices often suffer from issues like the “trade-off between high precision and low power consumption,” “weak interference resistance,” and “low integration.” The GXSCAFE employs advanced oversampling and digital filtering techniques to meticulously quantify input analog signals, enabling it to distinguish extremely minute voltage differences. With 24-bit high precision, it accurately converts these faint signals into digital data, providing a precise foundation for subsequent data analysis and processing.

The GXSC high-performance AFE is an exceptionally capable single-chip high-resolution ADC. Its internal architecture integrates a dual-channel multiplexer, a low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a multi-stage Σ-Δ modulator, and a digital filter combination. The dual-channel multiplexer facilitates input switching for both signal measurement and ADC test signal acquisition. The signal test mode allows chip baseline noise testing via internal input shorting, facilitating runtime device diagnostics. The PGA features high input impedance and low noise characteristics.
The GXSC AFE delivers outstanding noise, linearity, and distortion performance. Modulator outputs are filtered and decimated by the on-chip digital filter to generate sampled data outputs at the set rate. The digital filter provides data rates from 250 to 4000 SPS. The high-pass filter (HPF) features a programmable cutoff frequency and bypass mode. On-chip gain and offset calibration registers support calibration of the sampled data. The synchronous input pin controls the timing of ADC conversions. The shutdown input pin can place the ADC into a power-saving shutdown mode.
