Replacing the LTC2991, the GXSC GX2991 Voltage, Current, and Temperature Monitor Chip Is Applied to Electric Vehicle Instrument Current Detection

Time:2026-10-08 Views:54
The electrical system of an electric vehicle uses the power battery as its energy core, supplying power to loads such as the drive motor, controller, onboard electrical appliances, and lighting system. The operating current changes dynamically in real time according to driving conditions. The detection accuracy, real-time performance, and stability of the onboard instrument current detection system determine the accuracy of electric vehicle instrument data, battery service life, and overall vehicle operational safety.
GXSC has launched the GX2991 voltage, current, and temperature monitor chip as a replacement for the LTC2991. It is applied to the acquisition module of electric vehicle instruments to monitor the vehicle‘s charging and discharging current, battery voltage, and circuit board temperature, enabling real-time current display, accurate estimation of remaining range, energy consumption statistics, and overload protection. It supports I²C bus multi-chip cascading to expand channels and offers significant advantages such as a minimal peripheral circuit, high precision, strong anti-interference capability, and miniaturized integration.
The GX2991 supports two input modes, 8 single-ended voltages and 4 differential voltages, to achieve voltage measurement, current measurement, or remote BIT temperature measurement. It supports a standard FC two-wire interface and the standard C protocol, and has 3 hardware-selectable address bits, enabling expansion of up to 8 chips. The chip internally integrates a temperature sensor and a voltage sensor respectively to monitor its own operating temperature and operating voltage. Its main features are as follows:
Can measure 8 single-ended voltages or 4 differential voltages (currents) or 4 remote temperatures
Can measure voltage, current, and temperature individually or in any combination
Can measure the chip‘s own operating voltage and temperature
Single-ended voltage measurement accuracy better than 0.75%, with 305.18uV resolution
Differential voltage and current measurement accuracy better than 0.75%, with 19.075V resolution
Remote temperature measurement accuracy better than 2.0℃, with 0.0625℃ resolution
Internal temperature measurement accuracy better than 1.5℃, with 0.0625℃ resolution
14-bit ADC for voltage/current measurement
PWM dynamic adjustment output
2.9V to 5.5V power supply operating range
FC interface, 8 selectable addresses, up to 8 devices sharing the bus
Internal 10ppm/℃ voltage reference
ESD rated protection level of 6kV HBM for V1-V8 analog input pins
PIN TO PIN replacement for the LTC2991
