GXSC FRAM Replaces MB85RS128/FM25V01 in Flow Meters

Time:2026-07-28 Views:240
Flow meters are primarily used to collect key data in real time—such as instantaneous flow rate, cumulative flow, and flow velocity—for liquid and gaseous media, and serve as essential equipment for monitoring workplace safety. Since flow meters require uninterrupted accumulation of measurement data and real-time storage of calibration parameters, fault logs, and other data, traditional EEPROM or Flash memory struggles to meet the high-frequency, long-term, and high-reliability demands of smart metering. This application recommends the use of GXSC FRAM, which offers advantages such as high-frequency real-time measurement, non-volatile data retention, long-term maintenance-free operation, and highly reliable data traceability.
Flow meters collect raw analog signals—such as fluid velocity, pressure differential, and pulse frequency—via sensor probes. After signal conditioning and analog-to-digital conversion, these signals are sent to the main control MCU for data processing, resulting in real-time output of instantaneous flow rate values; The GXSC FRAM is specifically designed for high-frequency data acquisition, frequent parameter updates, and long-term data storage scenarios. It supports up to 1 million read/write operations, operates at frequencies up to 25 MHz, and supports high-speed 40 MHz read commands. Combining the high-speed read/write capabilities of RAM with the non-volatile storage of ROM, it ensures the long-term stable operation of flow meters.
The GXSC FRAM offers excellent data retention capabilities, ensuring reliable data retention for 10 years at 85°C (200 years at 25°C) within the industrial temperature range. It requires no additional battery backup, significantly simplifying the hardware design of servo drives while reducing design costs and failure rates. This feature ensures that critical data—such as preset parameters and fault logs—is not lost after a power outage.
The GXSC FRAM chip offers pin-to-pin replacement for the Fujitsu MB85RS128 and Cypress FM25V01. The SF25C128 uses a standard SPI interface, making it fully compatible with and a direct replacement for the MB85RS128 and FM25V01. The chip requires no major modifications to the hardware circuitry during the replacement process, thereby reducing development costs for the solution. Key Specifications of GXSC FRAM:
