GXSC ADC Replaces AD9694 in Radar and Satellite Communication Systems

Time:2026-07-01 Views:352
Radar detects targets by transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves, while satellite communications use satellites as relay stations for information transmission, receiving radio signals from the ground and forwarding them to the intended destination. Both radar and satellite communication technologies require powerful signal processing capabilities. Radar systems must process large volumes of echo signals and identify targets based on signal characteristics, while satellite communication systems must process vast amounts of signal data and transmit it to the intended destination. Therefore, signal processing is a critical component of both radar and satellite communication technologies.
Radar detection and satellite communication scenarios are generally characterized by wide signal bandwidth, a broad dynamic range, parallel reception via multi-channel arrays, and complex and harsh electromagnetic environments. GXSC’s high-performance four-channel 14-bit synchronous sampling analog-to-digital converter (ADC) can be used as a pin-to-pin replacement for the AD9694 in radar and satellite communication applications, making it suitable for high-speed acquisition scenarios such as radar array reception, satellite broadband demodulation, and RF spectrum acquisition.
The GXSC ADC core employs a multi-stage differential pipelined architecture and integrates output error correction logic. Each ADC features a wide-bandwidth input and supports a variety of user-selectable input ranges. Both the analog input and clock signals are differential inputs. The ADC data output is connected to four digital downconverters (DDCs) via an internal multiplexer. Each DDC consists of multiple cascaded signal processing stages, including a 48-bit frequency converter (numerically controlled oscillator, NCO) and up to four half-band decimation filters.
The GXSC ADC features on-chip buffers and a sample-and-hold circuit designed for low power consumption, small size, and ease of use. It offers a -3 dB input bandwidth of 1.4 GHz, along with high sampling rates, excellent linearity, a compact package, and low power consumption. It complies with the Nyquist sampling criterion, enabling complete, aliasing-free, and distortion-free acquisition of wideband signals.
GXSC ADC Product Advantages:
1. Package size is compatible with the reference model, supporting in-place replacement of the AD9694
2. Power consumption is approximately 53% of the reference chip, effectively reducing the overall power consumption of the system solution
3. Wider operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, providing better environmental adaptability
4. Compact package size, effectively reducing system volume
5. High integration, incorporating digital downconversion and a filter, which helps reduce system costs
6. 204B high-speed interface, facilitating user layout and wiring
